AMANDA SCHNEIDER, FOUNDER & CONSULTANT
Amanda Schneider, LEED AP, MBA is a researcher, writer, consultant and founder of Contract Consulting Group. Amanda is a strategic thinker with a strong background including industrial design, market research, product management, sales, and strategic launch practices with a breadth of furniture companies within the interiors industry. Amanda’s creative process stems from her education in Industrial Design from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, while her natural business sense is augmented by her MBA from the University of Iowa. She is passionate about studying the latest workplace trends to make meaningful connections for the contract furniture industry and regularly blogs about them for the Huffington Post and other various industry publications. When she’s not busy working in her suburban Chicago office or visiting clients, you can find her trail running at freakishly early hours of the morning, dreaming about that book she’ll write someday, or ambushing her secret stash of dark chocolate and red wine.
SUZANNE MAYNARD, WORKPLACE CONSULTANT
Suzanne Maynard, NCIDQ is a designer, workplace strategist, and consultant. Suzanne’s unique industry perspective comes from broad and varied roles in delivering successful workplace environments with experience ranging from furniture dealership to design firm to corporate real estate. As a creative problem solver, Suzanne leverages extensive experience with furniture specifications, design and planning, workplace strategy, and change management to create meaningful workplace change. She is most passionate about studying furniture and workplace trends to inform workplace solutions that positively impact the people who use them. Suzanne finds inspiration and peace being in nature. DYAN VAN FOSSEN, INNOVATION STRATEGIST
Dyan Van Fossen is a researcher, design thinker, and strategist. As a member of senior management for two Fortune 500 companies, Dyan’s impressive career is marked with culturally significant industry innovations in products, technologies, and market strategy. Dyan has her BA in Interior Architecture from the University of Iowa, and is experienced in applied design thinking. With expertise in strategic planning, the R&D process, new product development, trends research and growing the bottom line, Dyan’s creative and practical approach benefits a diverse client base. Her passions lie in aligning the end users’ needs and desires with the strategies of the companies and creating a culture of innovation. Dyan loves to travel the world, but is just as content to spend time swimming, sailing, and meditating at her home on the Lake Michigan lakeshore.
JANET COLLINS, GROWTH FACILITATOR
Janet Collins is a growth facilitator, coach, and organizational strategist. Janet has a proven track record of success in key leadership roles, including as a former president of GMi (Ghent), pioneering companies into new vertical markets while providing focus and innovation for growth. Janet has her BS in Business and Marketing from Miami University. With more than a decade of experience as an independent strategy and marketing consultant, Janet’s global thinking, outgoing personality, and passion for organizational transformation and clarity make her an exceptional sounding board for difficult leadership strategy discussions. Methodical in nature, Janet excels in leveraging research to guide clients to make key business decisions with ease. Outside of corporate transformation, Janet doesn’t start her day until she has had her early morning run, and is passionate about serving on the Board for the Countryside YMCA, located near her home outside of Cincinnati Ohio.
GISELLE WALSH, TRAINER & SUSTAINABILITY EXPERT
Giselle Walsh is a corporate trainer, sustainability expert, and avid researcher. While she has 20 years of experience in the commercial interiors industry, what makes her an exceptional asset as a consultant is her ability to understand detailed technical information, convey it simply, and coach others to do the same. Giselle has her BS in Business Administration from Culver Stockton College. With a deep understanding of the contract interiors market, Giselle takes complex concepts and makes them relatable to a wide audience. She is passionate about sustainability, and with her background in sales leadership, she is an intellectual asset for CEU training and presentations. She loves to cook, read, and volunteers her time with ZeroLandfill Chicago, a nonprofit she founded and continues to run her local chapter.
ALLISON ROON, CHIEF CREATIVE OFFICER
Allison Roon is an interior designer, marketing strategist, and storyteller. With deep roots in the contract furniture industry, Allison offers unique insight to what makes spaces and stories meaningful, and how they can be used to engage an audience and impact change. Allison has her BA in Interior Design from Kendall College of Art and Design, and went on to get her Masters in Adult and Higher Education from Grand Valley State University. With a background as Director of Design, Marketing & Project Management, Allison has an incredible ability to create meaningful conversations around the future of work and workplace,and draw out information and conclusions from client discussions that lead to high level product and market strategy decisions. Her energy is contagious, and communication style engaging. Aside from work, Allison loves sneaking out for a run with the dog along West Michigan’s lakeshore, meandering through a greenhouse, and scouring Zillow in case the next fixer upper catches her eye.
KELLY TIMMERMANS, MASTER CONNECTOR
Kelly Timmermans is a designer, researcher, and project manager. With extensive experience in the A&D channel as well as contract fabric and furniture manufacturers, Kelly leverages her deep knowledge of this complex industry to help projects stay focused and run smoother. She received her BS in Interior Design from Western Michigan University. Her broad perspective is leveraged to guide market research insights and analysis of industry trends. Passionate about client relationships, and the creative process, Kelly has become a “go-to” problem solver and resource for a wide network of industry constituents. Kelly’s energy for life keeps her very active whether at the gym or an outdoor run, but she also enjoys a relaxing afternoon at the beach on Lake Michigan.
KATIE SHAYKIN, WORD CHEF
Katie Shaykin is a writer, social media strategist, and communications consultant. Katie specializes in blog, byline, white paper and press release creation, in addition to her extensive experience in digital marketing including website content creation, social media, and SEO analytics. Katie earned her BS in integrated marketing communications from Illinois State University. Her experience in a multitude of industries including two Fortune 500 companies, gives her a results driven mindset for her clients marketing initiatives. Katie’s passion is listening to her clients story and translating that narrative into a powerful message that connects them to their target audience. Outside of her passion for the written word, Katie loves to cook and can often be found trying new recipes with her three small sous chefs in her suburban Illinois home.
